I’m Jeroen: a creative storyteller from The Netherlands who loves designing visuals, experimenting with new tools and giving people a moment of “wow.” I combine structure with imagination, calmness with energy and curiosity with a growing passion for content creation. This portfolio shows the things I made, the ideas I’m exploring and the direction I’m heading in. Welcome in.

I’m Jeroen, a creative who loves building visuals, solving problems and bringing ideas to life in a structured but playful way. My path led me from design school to living in Brazil and working in hospitality, shaping how I communicate, create and stay calm in chaos. Want to know the full story? You can read more below.
I’m Jeroen. I’ve always been someone who enjoys creating things, solving problems and keeping my surroundings (and my files…) organized. Whether it’s a project folder, my house or my workspace, I like things to be clear and logical. I’m also someone who stays calm when things get chaotic, and people often come to me when they need help or a fresh pair of eyes. Creativity and structure have always gone hand in hand for me.
My interest in design and media started early, but it really grew once I left the traditional school route. HAVO didn’t fit me. Moving to a creative MBO4 education at Cibap felt like stepping into a place where everything finally clicked. I enjoyed trying out tools, building concepts, figuring out workflows and helping classmates when they got stuck. I’ve always had a good sense of how to tackle problems and explain things in a simple, practical way.
After Cibap, life took me in a completely different direction. I spent a long period in Brazil, living on my own for the first time in a small village where hardly anyone spoke English. I had to learn Portuguese, adapt to the culture and manage everything myself.
Before I left, I was at a point in life where I felt stuck in the same place for too long. I wanted to be further ahead, but I was still living at home and didn’t really know what the next step should be. Going to Brazil changed that. It pushed me into independence, taught me responsibility and made me much more confident in unfamiliar situations. That time abroad shaped me in ways I still carry with me today.
When I returned to the Netherlands, I started working in hospitality. I moved from a normal employee to floormanager quickly. That role taught me how much I enjoy guiding a team, staying calm under pressure and solving problems in the moment. I learned how to communicate with all kinds of people, stay friendly even on busy days and take responsibility when it matters. All of that strongly influences the way I work now.
No matter where I was in life, creativity stayed with me.
I love:
editing videos
experimenting with the Adobe Creative Cloud
creating visuals
streaming and entertaining
building concepts and storylines
exploring AR ideas
trying new tools just to see what’s possible
My style is usually a mix of cinematic, playful, bold and structured. I want things to have personality but also make sense. And above all, I love giving people a feeling – a wow moment, a smile, a spark of inspiration.
I’m pretty active and social. I enjoy going to the gym, practicing BJJ, playing padel or badminton, socializing with friends, exploring new places, going out and occasionally getting lost in a creative idea for hours. I love music, singing, dancing, streaming, fashion, photography, gaming (not too often) and tinkering with software.
People often describe me as friendly, open, confident, organized, curious and easy to talk to. I like being around people, but I’m also fine being on my own working on something creative.
Even though I already love creating, there’s a lot I still want to grow in. I want to become better at:
camera work
lighting
sound
3D modeling
storytelling and content structure
building larger, more ambitious creative projects
I’m a quick learner and I enjoy analyzing how things work, so learning new skills is something I actually look forward to.
My dream is to build a career where I can be in the creative spotlight.
I want to grow as a content creator and streamer, make videos with meaning, create cinematic visuals, perform, sing and express myself fully. I’d love to work with a team of talented people who share the same passion for creativity, entertainment and innovation.
I’m not rushing it, but I know the direction I’m heading in. I’m building it step by step, improving every time and getting closer to the person I want to be.
At Cibap’s Creative Technology program I learned by doing, experimenting and creating, and those skills still influence how I work today.
My education path wasn’t straight forward, but it was exactly what I needed. HAVO didn’t fit me, I learn best by doing, creating and experimenting. Switching to the creative MBO4 program at Cibap felt like stepping into the right world. Suddenly things made sense.
At Cibap, I explored tools, built concepts, developed workflows and learned to understand the “why” behind design choices. I naturally helped classmates when they got stuck, because breaking down problems and explaining them in a simple, practical way has always been one of my strengths.
I studied Creative Technology, and our class was the first year ever to follow this direction. It was a test phase for everyone; teachers, students and the school itself. Which meant we had freedom, flexibility and the challenge of helping shape what the program would become.
Creative Technology was all about combining different forms of media design and taking them a step further. Not just 2D visuals on a screen, but also interactive experiences, installations, physical-digital mixes, AR and VR ideas and concepts that people could walk through or engage with. It taught me to think beyond the obvious and create experiences, not just videos and images.
During my studies, I also completed 3 different internships that gave me real project experience and helped me translate creative ideas into practical workflows.
My education gave me a strong foundation in media design, problem-solving, visual thinking and creative workflow. Skills I still use daily.
My time living in Brazil challenged me in the best way. I had to adapt fast, learn Portuguese and become independent in a place far outside my comfort zone. It taught me confidence, adaptability and cultural awareness, skills I am still grateful for every day.
Living abroad became one of the most defining experiences of my life. I spent a long period in Brazil, in a small village (São Domingos, Bahia) where almost no one spoke English. For the first time, I was fully on my own. I had to learn Portuguese, understand a different culture, handle my own responsibilities and become independent in a place far outside my comfort zone.
Before I left, I felt stuck for too long in the same situation. Still living at home, unsure about my next step, wanting to move forward but not knowing how. Brazil changed that. It pushed me to grow up fast, to trust myself and to become confident in unfamiliar situations.
Living abroad taught me to adapt, communicate with all kinds of people, read social situations and stay calm even when everything around me felt new or unpredictable.
These lessons still help me today; in teamwork, in creativity, and in the way I approach challenges.
My work outside media design shaped a big part of who I am today. From early jobs to becoming floormanager in hospitality, I learned responsibility, clear communication and staying calm under pressure. These experiences still influence the way I work in creative environments every day.
Next to working in media design, I worked in different jobs that shaped the way I am today. I started young at Jumbo and Hotel Kuik, still figuring myself out, but those jobs taught me a lot fast. At Hotel Kuik I welcomed guests, helped with breakfast and dinner service, cleaned rooms, gave tourist information and learned what real hospitality actually is: being attentive, being kind, and making people feel welcome.
My most important experience came later at Brasserie De Komeet at RCN De Noordster, Dwingeloo. What started as a normal hospitality job quickly grew into something much bigger, and I became the floormanager in a very short time. Suddenly I was responsible for coordinating my colleagues, keeping overview between the bar, restaurant, brasserie, kitchen and snackcorner, making decisions when management wasn’t there and solving problems calmly when things got chaotic. I handled inventory, orders, cash-register closing, supported events, managed the brasserie’s social media and even did a job interview.
It was the first time I really understood how much people rely on me, not in an ego way, but in a way that showed I could truly handle responsibility.
Hospitality is intense, but it made me better at communication, leadership, teamwork, fast decision-making and staying calm under pressure. It taught me to take initiative instead of waiting for instructions, to communicate clearly and to stay friendly and professional even when I had to disappoint someone or say no.
All of this experience still helps me today. I work well in a team, I stay calm on set or during stressful moments, and I can handle fast-changing situations without losing structure.
