Cibap year three

2019 - 2020

Year three pushed me creatively and personally. I worked on larger concepts, learned to present strong ideas, experimented with animation and even traveled to China for an exchange project. It was a year full of variety, new perspectives and confidence-building moments.

PROJECT - ASN BANK

2019 – Cibap

The assignment was to recreate the ASN Bank commercial Het Gewoontedier. I decided to make a fully animated version, something I hadn’t tried before at this level.

I created all visuals in Illustrator and animated everything in Adobe Character Animator. I went for a more playful, childlike style. The only downside was that the voiceover recording didn’t turn out great, but the project itself taught me a lot.

PROJECT - SADTI X CIBAP (CHINA)

2019 – Suzhou, China

For this exchange project I traveled with a group of Cibap students to SADTI, an art school in Suzhou, China. Together with the students there, we worked on a project that mixed Chinese and Dutch art styles and cultural elements.

It was a memorable experience. Everything was well organized, everyone was welcoming, and we also had time to explore Suzhou and Shanghai.

PROJECT - SIRE

2019 – Cibap

This project was mainly about pitching an idea. We had to come up with a campaign concept for SIRE that focused on reducing food waste. Since SIRE is known for smart and impactful messaging, the goal was to present a strong idea convincingly rather than deliver a finished product.

PROJECT - OPEN

2019 – Cibap

For this project we could choose any direction we wanted. I used the opportunity to dive into photography more seriously.

I planned a studio photoshoot using a DSLR camera and edited the results in Photoshop. The theme I worked with was “In Heaven”. It was my first time doing a fully professional shoot from start to finish.

INTERNSHIP - TOP OF THE HILL

2020 – Zwolle

Together with eight other interns, I worked on posters, visual identities, and promotional videos for Zwolle Unlimited.

When the festival was canceled due to the pandemic, we had to quickly rethink and come up with alternative ideas. It made the experience more challenging, but also more interesting.
